ROLLERSKATE LOVERS
I wrote this little poem after a lovely afternoon whizzing around Hyde park and Kensington Gardens with my boyfriend.
*
Glide me down swiftly so fleet
choosing this path takes me into your arms
gentle the arc I draw
twice two for figure eight
round and round I'm a carousel
hold me tight, no alarms
*
Look at me! slicing the breeze
my coming darling is only for you
the wind brushes my face
sunshine plays in my hair
races, the beating of my heart
I'm alive! everything's new!
*
Avenues of trees slide by
for the moment you are lost to my view
so wheel the wheel backwards
you are still out of my sight
turn the full circle, where are you?
with eyes for me so true
*
Look there! our tryst, we shall meet
our paths, love, will cross once more, you and I
nothing can stop us now
our joyful collision sure
hand holding hand, happily we
my head on your shoulder I sigh.

I love the natural beauty of your poems. I wonder your inspiration for writing about freedom in the last few poems. Beautiful.

You are a romantic for sure. What about putting the peotry to music? Perhaps you could compose yourself.....
Hi rob, you know peace pillar came from a S. African lady's pic titled "lull before the storm" indicating violent times ahead and it bugged at me so, why may it not rather be a promise of peace, those words as the words of Anne Franks poem turned over and over in my mind for days like clothes in a tumbler. The other poems are taken from personal experience and are different. Thank you for your kindness and encouragement.
Hey mister Ambassador Martin good for you. Thanks for your encouraging words, I do have music in my head but it's not original, some of those lines are quite cumbersome for a tune, but if anyone ever did make a song out of any of it I would be thrilled. Take care now. I wish you happiness
Dearest Jhunnelle, God bless you too, I love your page. think kindly of me I send love thoughts your way. Sus

I'm assuming you're from London since you said you wrote this poem in Hyde Park, one of my favourite places to sit down and read and think. Beautiful words. xx
